Mana ‘Ulu and Zero Waste
The Mana ʻulu starts as one huli/stalk and sometime separates into two parent stalks like fingers on a hand, multiplying its own ability to feed and grow.
The word “Mana” translates to “supernatural or divine power, miraculous power, authority”. and a similar word “manamana lima”, translates to “fingers”.
The word ʻUlu means “breadfruit”, representing the yellowish color fo the corm. Without the ʻokina, Ulu means “to grow or multiply in abundance”.
The high intentions of the mana ʻulu represent each person who refines their relationship to aloha ʻāina who’s principles are the foundation for zero waste outcomes. Individuals such as ourselves have a deep affection for ʻāina, and will inspire others to reconnect to Hawaiian ways of being, paving the path to a Zero Waste Hawaiʻi Island.
